Hello, I recently made a couple of scrapbooks for a friend and her daughter who went to Ireland for several weeks.
This is the front cover for daughter's. I printed the photo of the lovely castle and glued it to the woodgrain bg, then squirted a heavy wiggle of Crackle accent on top of it, so that hands touching this photo won't damage or fingerprint. It added great dimension to the picture which is craggly rock and it deepened the colors on the photo. Added the 'door handle' hitch fastener last.
sponged Old Olive on both the die cut word and the strip of dsp.
I used Kraft paper as base construction and decided that 'rustic' was the style early on. lined up interior Kraft pages Punched holes top to bottom on the inside spine and 'sewed' the kraft paper pages to the cover leaving long tails in the middle to use as ties. added Glossy accent under the twine on the spine and in the inside spine dropped a dot in each hole before inserting the twine, for a little support. used a line of glossy accent along the dsp strip to attach the twine (front and backside). Twine tails were long, so I doubled them and tied a couple of knots for interest and stability to tie shut the journal/scrapbook.
I don't 'sew' too often, but thought it was the right touch for this. hope you can see the spine well enough in this pic, hadn't planned to post and then saw the fun sewing challenge today. TFL

O, hi ya! Another stunning creation here. The rustic take along with all the textile touches makes for a glorious card! Bet the young lady loved it. Such a treat for my eyes.
