It's time for a new Color Challenge! Barbara is hosting this week and she has chosen the lovely combination of Calypso Coral, Peekaboo Peach and Old Olive, with a dessert option of using a die or punched element on your card. I'm also joining the current Ways to Use It challenge at SCS, where we are to use white ink on our card.
Finally, I'm linking up to the Anything Goes challenge at the current Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.
So I recently saw Jennifer McGuire create multiple cards with a technique she calls Trapped Emboss Resist (link to blog post here. To create my card with this technique, I ink blended on Bristol paper Distress Inks in coral and peach, embossed a background stamp with clear embossing powder, then ink blended white pigment ink over the top, buffing with a clean cloth off the embossed areas. This mutes the original ink blending except where the brighter colors are trapped under the embossing. Fun and easy to do, and I think qualifies for the current Ways to Use It "White Out" challenge.
I die cut and layered a stitched frame then wrapped with washi tape that primarily has coral, peach and olive colors. Adhered over blended panel, added to Old Olive card base, adhered the sentiment and finished with iridescent jewels. More details and pics at my blog.
Thanks for looking and I hope you will join the Color Challenge this week!
