Our tea party for TeaPotters this month celebrated Fairytales. And your favorite book from childhood.
I must admit to going down a rabbit hole on the favorite book of childhood. I simply couldn't pick just one. So I chose a quote instead.
Every person's life
is a fairytale
written by
God's finger
Hans Christian Andersen
The lovely scene with a mother and her children is an illustration from a children's book that was made into a stamp by a most talented man from my city. He had a great appreciation of the art from long ago and would press them into rubber. I colored with watercolors. I cut a mask and then stenciled the clocks in the background with Chalk Box inks. I just kept at it.
The sentiment was stamped onto a mixed media scrap and the frame (Stampington) was placed over. I cut out the pieces of the family that needed to go behind the book frame.
The foiled stars (Club Strap) were super fun to do.
The card closes with a little bit of seam binding.
Thanks for have a look. Can't wait to see what books prompted your art this week.
