Needed a birthday card for my nephew - thank heavens he indulges my love of cute since he went to double digits last year. Was going to just do the card with the sentiment, but that cute bitty balloon bear was sitting on my desk already colored up and his balloon shiny from the glossy accents - well, I just couldn't resist adding him to the design.
But I digress...
Was still feeling the draw of the rainbow Distress Ink colors (Candy Apple, Spiced Marmalade, Squeezed Lemonade, Twisted Citron, and Broken China) and some sponging, especially since this week's CAS challenge was for bands of color.
I die cut my focal panel and then used 3M tape to mark off the area I wanted to sponge.
Stamped/embossed) the sentiment (SSS). Colored the HAPPY with Copics and white embossed the tiny "birthday to you" before die cutting with a double ended flag die. Cut an extra flag for added dimension. I was planning to die cut the HAPPY as well, but I cannot for the life of me find the matching dies. (You know when I reorder them, the originals will jump right out of their hiding places). So I fussy cut instead, leaving the insides of the APP intact. Used a black marker on the cut edges for a more finished look. Matted and assembled the card. Added the bitty bear and called it done.
TFL!
