I made this card for this week's color challenge. Stef is our hostess and she chose the colors of Mango Melody, Grapefruit Grove and Shaded Spruce. I do not have any of these colors so I had to get creative with my Stampinup ink swatches and the color swatches in the StampinUp catalog, and I believe I came pretty close. This card involved a LOT of masking and is made entirely with multi-step stamps so lots of stamping too. I honestly love masking and watching the scene come to life. When I was done with the card it still needed something, but I was reluctant to add a sentiment so I went with a butterfly instead. I colored my butterfly with alcohol markers and punched it out with the coordinating punch. I still felt the card needed something so I die cut the oval out of the center of the image and popped it up on fun foam so the middle is higher than the outside of the image. This card was really fun to make using this week's colors. Thanks for looking today. ~Karen.

Your decision to cut out and pop up the oval, blending it with your original stamping really takes this card a step above! You've worked wonders with today's colors!

WOW! Karen, you are the queen of masking with multi-step stamps! This is GORGEOUS, and I love every inch of it and really love the butterfly that is so beautifully colored and has so much detail. And then popping up the center (for an eclipse effect) was a brilliant idea. It's stunning, sweet friend! Hugs and love! xoxo

Holy cow! I can see that all this masking and stamping was a labor of love! Beautiful flowers and butterfly. Like these colors were made for them. Great idea to die cut the oval to give the card that extra something. I would never think to do that and it works so well!

This is glorious and spectacular looking. You sure did come close to the colors. I would never know these were different. Well done, you. I love how you popped up the panel with foam and your butterfly is wonderful, no sentiment needed. The spruce green c.s. sets this off to perfection.

I am so impressed with those layered stamped images. Just amazing. Can just imagine the mess I would get into trying that out. A lovely bunch of coloured loveliness.
