Not surprising to me, late again! But there is always time for a hot cuppa and a savoring of this weeks TeaPotter, right? I can't wait to see the gallery for Carol (bobbiesgirl). I have been blessed to know Carol, blessed by her talent in my mailbox many times, and thankful for her steadfast prayers behind the scenes. I hope these cards in her mailbox this week will brighten her days and be a symbol of how much she is loved here and there....
I had to peruse her gallery for inspiration. There are so many elements she adores...vintage, sheet music, cityscapes, THAT face, perfume bottles, ships, bikes, flowers to name a 'few'. It was a trip I enjoyed taking.
My card is a combination of those favs lace sun and Sunset Sailing and Journey. I had to drag myself away from Carol's gallery...
I first created the ocean waters with Distress Oxides. They got really wet and took a day to dry...but I love the colors. The mixed media paper was then dry embossed with the 'Tide' ef from LifeStyle Crafts. I tore the upper edge as that is something Carol would do...& distressed the edge with a tool.
The lace doily stands in for the golden sun...embossed with clear. I used an unknown sentiment that journeys are NEVER straight lines...which got me to thinking...do ships sail in straight lines??? I think not.
I tucked a tag into the water with a 'C' stamped on it. Pull it out there is a message there. And I just had to use my LIFE~Saver. I braided a gold piece of twine to attach it to the message...
grab that Life~Savor....
Thank you for contributing to the gallery for Carol this week and your comments are sincerely appreciated.

What a fantastic card this is with a truly wonderful design and message. I love the ocean and how you created this and your sentiment - it will be so meaningful to Carol. ~Karen.
