This is for Anita's Teapotters Challenge on behalf of Sue, a fellow participant of our SCS community, who recently lost her youngest sister.
Anita's challenge is to use only three items to make your card. She even suggested asking someone else to pick out the three things. How fun! It is a creative idea. I want to try it and ask my DH pick three things for me to make a card! For this card for Sue, I had something specific in mind that I wanted to make. I bent the rules; I used stamping, die-cutting, embossing: three things.
I just purchased SU! Thoughtful Branches bundle on eBay. It was a limited time exclusive set back in August 2016 and I didn't get it then. I decided it was something I wanted to add to my collection. When it arrived yesterday, I remembered that the stamps and dies could be used to make a hydrangea, which was one of Sue's sister, Bonnie's favorites.
Also, my card goes for Wendy's Free 4 All Feeling Crumby for which I used Crumb Cake for the background. I embossed with Brick Wall and swiped my white craft ink pad across it.
And for Carla's Hot & Sticky Days challenge, I popped up the sentiment with sticky Dimensionals. I also bent up the edges of the hydrangea and the leaves so I kept the sticky glue from these edges in order to do so.
Wonderful challenges: thank you to the hostesses. Thank you for looking!

Diane, this is amazing. So very clever to use that bundle to make such a beautiful hydrangea! Now, I'm on the lookout for it. Gorgeous card. I especially love the brick background.

I too missed this very limited stamp/die bundle, then saw it on Ebay for a kind of reasonable price and just HAD to have it. But I haven't played with it. I LOVE hydrangeas, have for a long time. You have inspired me to play with my bundle once I finish the huge set of cards I'm making as a gift for my Mom (hand-stitched ones), and I'm trying to do a huge purge and reorganization of all of my supplies and my crafting space, whew!
I love the vibrant purple you've used for the hydrangea blossoms, it really pops against the bricked background, so lovely!!! I can only imagine how this card will bring great comfort to Sue, especially as hydrangeas were a favorite flower of her sister. I have been so touched to see so many cards created to comfort Sue in this great loss of her sister.
Thank you so much for leaving that very kind comment on my cross-stitched birthday card--it means a great deal to me when fellow card-makers take the time and trouble to look at my card, and when they leave a comment, it means even more. Thank you SO very much, the comments that you and your colleagues leave really touch my heart and they encourage me.

Love your hydrangea periwinkle on the brick embossed Crumb Cake bg with the sanded, worn look to them. The angled placement of the hydrangea and little lacy ribbon knot and perfect!

This is so beautiful!! I copied it but had to change the BG to French Script since I didn't have the bricks. This is going to be one of my go-to designs now! Thank you so much for sharing. You did a great job!
