When I host the Color Challenge, about every 6 weeks or so, I try to pick pretty colors and a dessert option that will be a bit challenging--especially for me! Well, this week I have outsmarted myself! I chose a one-layer card as the dessert option. I had no idea how difficult that would be for me! I made two cards this week, trying to do the challenge justice. I'm not sure I hit the mark on either of them, but they're growing on me . . . . Anyway, the colors this week are Sweet Sugarplum, Rich Razzleberry and Tranquil Tide. I stamped off one time to get the lighter green shade on the leaves.
When this stamp set first came out, it was at the top of my favorites list for quite a while. But sadly, newer shinier things have come my way, and this one hasn't seen ink for a long time. This week remedies that, with a card for a needlework friend who just had a hip replaced. I expected to see her at our meeting yesterday, but since she didn't make it to the meeting, she's going to get this card. She's one of those special people who always expresses appreciation for my hand-made cards!
I kept it really flat, really one layer, no embellishments. However, the CC police are on vacation this week, so if you have a few sequins or gems, etc., on your card, you can still have dessert!
