Saturday usually is a "have to do" day consisting of marketing, cleaning, and a whole list if other things that need to be done. I am still waiting for my fairy godmother to show up one day with that awesome magic wand. However, thanks to Georgia the ginormous German Shepherd, I can only sit and do crafts today. She can't get close enough to me....this resulted in me going airborne across the kitchen while trying to make dinner last night. My knee looks like an eggplant. So excited that Julie chose such a wonderful site for the inspiration challenge. I chose the mermaid theme. All the rooms were in these lovely shades of blues and purples. As usual, I had a major fail when trying to link to my inspiration-my technical ability remains below that of my dog. My mermaid and the water around her are done with one of my favs techniques which is color pencil blending. Then for Ky's Mix challenge, I used Kate Cranes gel press faux watercolor tutorial for the bg. I also colored the mermaid in colors that she uses a lot. Fabulous artist...i started following her on Pinterest. Thanks Ky for the link. Finally, for Lisa's love is in the air AT challenge, the inside of the card says "Just thinking about how much I love you". I made 2 of these at the same time. One without the sentiment for my stash, and the love one for my husband. TFL, Francie

Francie--I'm glad that you're OK, and that Georgia is staying close to you! It's always fun to have a "stamping buddy" in the craft room with you. Winnie was with me today while I stamped. Your card is beyond gorgeous! Your coloring is amazing! TFS

Wow! This is a feast and dessert for the eyes! I am just blown away by this gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous mermaid and the incredible bg you created for her. What an incredible Valentine card to give to your hubby! I hope you knee heals quickly, but may be not before you make another masterpiece like this one! ~Karen.

What a beautiful mermaid, Francie! I love how bright your colors are & your bg looks amazing. I sure hope your knee heals quickly. It sounds painful & exactly like something I would do...I'm kind of a klutz.
