I needed a card for a friend of mine who just can't wrap his head around the fact that he will be 69 next week. I saw this festive card by KareBear51 and hope it will put some cheer into his special day!
Things I changed -used a split stamped sentiment - added LOTS more candles and used washi tape instead of die cuts.
I put bright strips of washi tape across the card front angling the tops just slightly and drew some tiny wicks with a sharpie. I was going to fussy cut flames but then remembered the leaf cluster in my SB Elegant branch set - They made super flame shapes when cut out of goldenrod cardstock! I added just a bit of orange to the bottom edges with prisma pencil. Used the Stamp-a-ma-jig to separate my sentiment so I could put part across the top and part on my bottom banner strip.
Thanks, Karen, for the inspiration !!

Linda, this is a FABULOUS idea for washi tape! I have so much, I will never use it, and this might put in a dent! I love it. Thanks for the inspiration!

I love the sentiment. What stamp set did it come from. I'm always looking for great birthday sentiments. And I'm not far behind our friend. I need to enjoy the glow more the next time around.

Fabulous! Love how you used different washi tapes for the candles. The flame is clever! Very nicely done. Terrific take on Karen's fun card. Your friend will love his creative card. TFS

Wow, wow, wow! What a fantastic birthday card this is. You have some wonderful washi tape (I thought it was dp) and have used it brilliantly to create these marvelous candles. This card is sure to brighten the recipient's day. Outstanding card!
