This is my card for Robin's fun Free For All challenge where our inspiration for a card comes from a wonderful moment from 2017.
My wonderful moment lasted 4 months when DH and I set off in our little caravan. It was a true adventure. We loved it so much we are going for 5 or 6 months this year.
I love this Unity Stamp, she reminds me of Ann of Green Gables setting off on her own adventure. This card was going to be bigger, but I had to lop the top part off because my clouds looked really dodgy.
To make the panel look more balanced, I cut off the bottom section of grass. There is a terrific tutorial here called Outdoor Backgrounds Outdoor Backgrounds Tutorials at Splitcoaststampers. I used the same method but instead of using Copics, I used pencils.
All the colouring is with Prismacolour pencils and zest it pencil blend. I used a red Copic marker over her previously coloured pinnie and a brown Copic randomly flicked in her hair, hat and suitcase.
Ann's pinnie looks super shiny in real life. I discovered once before that red pencils, zest it pencil blend (with a heavy hand) and red Copics can turn shiny. It must have something to do with the red pigment. I also rub really hard with the blending pencil, this will make everything look more waxy.
I finished by stencilling on some blue dots, sponged a bit of left over walnut stain in the corners and doodled a border. Oh I almost forgot, I outlined Ann with a great Copic marker.
Thank you for looking, I hope you get some inky time and join in.

As soon as I saw this card I was thinking, "Boy, this adorable girl reminds me of Anne of Green Gables." How fun! I honestly don't even now where to start Susie. Your background just blows me away and so does your hand doodling. And what a great backdrop to showcase Anne. I love reading how you color your images Susie because I could never in a million years pull this off, but it is great reading. If I mixed as many colors together as you do, I would have mud. I do love how impassionate you are about your projects because you so casually mention how you lopped the top off or the bottom off. Ha! I love that! Anne's travel case with all the stickers is really terrific too. This is going right into my favs so I can enjoy this wonderful card whenever I want to. ~Karen.

Susie, you are amazing and life is so full and so fun for you. I don't even know you personally but your work and your words speak well about the adventureous kind of person you are. I hope that bag of hers if full of at least some essential art supplies for you to continue your creations you can share with us here. I hate to think of missing any month of SCS without Susie as part of it.

Oh, sweet sis! I LOVE her, and she is definitely Anne of Green Gables. Your coloring is amazing, and I love the vibrancy and how she really pops off the card. Beautifully done with a wonderful description! Oh my, that's a very long time to miss you! I surely hope you hit some "internet hot spots" on your travels, but I know how much you and DH will LOVE the adventures and especially your time to relax and read!! Love you to bits, sis! Loving hugs (you don't need any more warmth than you have already there, right?)! xoxo
