I saw a card back in 2012 made by LeeAnn Greff with a cute little punch art Asian geisha girl and I saved it to Pinterest. I decided to use LeeAnn's punch art technique as a focal point on this birthday card for my card-making buddy. It fits three SCS challenges, following:
#1 - WT660 - Ways to Use It - It's in My Favorites...find inspiration from a card in your Favorites. I found this card: So Grateful There's You by NaomiW at Splitcoaststampers by NaomiW, and I'm using her layout, along with another card from the Featured Stamper, as my layout inspiration. I borrowed a little from both cards to make my final choices.
#2 - FS560 - Featured Stamper - This week's stamper is Jennie Maier...CraftyJennie. Jennie has a full gallery with lots of entries and I spent all afternoon to look it over. I already had an idea of the subject matter for my card and was just looking for possible layout ideas. I chose this card: SUO-SC609 Merrry Christmas by CraftyJennie at Splitcoaststampers in Jennie's gallery to help me out. I liked the mat layer on the band and under my image, which I definitely incorporated in my card.
#3 - DD8ABC1A - Alphabet Challenge, Round 8 - Letter A/ Double Challenge: use black and white stripes. Letter A comes from my Asian geisha girl punch art focal point, and the black and white stripes are used in my background.
Ingredients: Paper: Stampin'Up Cardstock--Basic Black, Real Red; My Mind's Eye--Everyday Basics Pad (blacks); Doodlebug--Petite Prints/ Ladybug Daisy; Little Yellow Bicycle--Once Upon A Christmas/ OC-102; Photoplay--Holiday Cheer/ Holly Jolly.
