This is for Jeannie's mixed media challenge - use a mister. LOL I actually forgot to use my mister as I used ironing spray instead, however I have it on good authority that Mermaids call ironing spray starch - mist and they call spray cans, misters....and who is going to argue with a Mermaid.
Ironing spray starch, aka mist, is much easier to work with than water in a mister - it's not as 'wet' as water and it doesn't dilute the colour of what ever medium you are using.
This background is Brusho's, ironing spray mist and cling wrap. The cling wrap is squished on to the sprayed cardstock and allowed to air dry for a while. I was too impatient to let it fully dry so I hit it with a heat gun.
The image is a digi image by Aurora Wings, printed on copy paper and coloured with Prismacolour pencils and the dark bits are Prisma watercolour pencils, without using water as it would buckle on copy paper.
I used a scalpel to ever so gently cut into the Brusho card base, just enough to peel back the very top layer, so I could stick the Mermaid on and make it look like she is popping out of the water.
Thank you for looking and I wish you a happy weekend.

What a doll, and I don't just mean the mermaid! I am always captivated with your creations, and delight in your process sharing. Perfect choice of colors.

Susie - I just love mermaids but this one scares me a little. I must admit that I am envious of her string of pearls. Another special inky background too.

I saw this last night and never commented because I wimped out (and got too tired). But truly, sis, this is gorgeous, and I love her colors and how you've carefully cut her so she appears to be popping out of the water...you continue to amaze and delight!! Hugs! xoxo
