Wendy's free for all challenge-Inspired by the 70's!
Back in the day, my parents would rent a station wagon to visit relatives every summer. Our family of six, would pile into the wagon at 3am to reach our destination 12 hours later.
My siblings (DS & 2DB) would sprawl in the back (with the back seat down) and play board games (Trouble, Monopoly, & cards). We would dream of traveling beyond our relatives to unchartered states throughout the US, and we 'pretended' where we would live when we grew up.... Let me just say, the imaginative stories had our parents laughing histerically, minimizing our long journey. It was the best bonding time ever!
For this card, I tried my first mountain background by masking and sponging on color.
I then stamped the car image in Tranquil Tide and colored with a sparkle pen in sea breeze color, & silver metallic gel pen.
I masked the car, and used a light gray color chiseled marker for the road.
I watercolored/painted in the trees and landscaping, finished with stamping the sentiment in Dapper Denim.
Fun trip down memory lane!!

Your mountain bg turned out great! And I love that station wagon! We had one growing up and took a yearly trip to visit relatives many states away...took us 2 days driving..I can't believe you could play board games in the car. We would sleep a lot and just annoy each other...lol

We had a big old black Plymouth wagon that looks suspiciously like your image. Your bg image turned out great and I LOVE that Roam stamp with the A that looks like a tepee!

Oh, yes! I remember the days!!! We had a lot of VWs growing up but we also had a station wagon once. We loved to pile in the back. We traveled a lot....Not fancy traveling but always on the move. I dreamt of grand adventures! Your card totally takes me back! You created a wonderful scene!

Wow, this is just an amazing scene and design, so beautifully colored. And, the story, is even better than the fabulous card. Memories for all of us. And, we had a green stationwagon.
