I am having so much fun playing around with the Elegant Writer pens. I had seen this fabulous video during the waiting for prize drawing thread during DTGD. I re-watched it the other day when I was showing it to a friend and realized I'd forgotten the all important fact that if you dabbed at the activated wet ink it would turn more pinky-purple which was perfect for this challenge. I pulled out a "how to draw" book and sketched my rocks with the black elegant writer pen. I then wet a fine brush and started activating the ink and moving the color around keeping lots of the blue grey, but also dabbing with a Kleenex to get the lighter purple colors too. Today, all I did was add a few little flowers and some Slate "grass" here and there and also a few Slate detail lines on the rocks here and there. My image panel was 4x6 so I cut a 4 1\2x 6 1/2" Razzleberry mat and put it on an A7 Slate base. I decided not to add any sentiment. I'm working on a poetry unit with the kids and I may have to write a haiku to go with this, but for now I'm leaving it as is. I forgot to add the when I posted this.
