PLEASE READ TO UNDERSTAND MY CARD: Today Toni (ravengirl) hosted the Ways To Use It Challenge, Playing Safe, in recognition of National Playground Safety Week. The challenge is to "break out some of your favorite toy images". Great selection, Toni!
OK, my friends, I can read your minds! What does a quilt have to do with a toy and playing it safe on the playground? Get your evening coffee, sit down, and let me tell you!
When I read the challenge, I started reminiscing about my children as youngsters and how they loved sitting at the table with Mom, putting together puzzles, one of their favorite "toys"! Well, the word, puzzle, was the trigger.
I immediately thought of ODBD's April Release related to quilts. Why? To me, crafting with the ODBD released quilt dies requires putting together a "puzzle", and it takes time, or at least for me. Therefore, the quilt represents the puzzles my children loved. And they were in a safe environment, as they were sitting with me playing with puzzles and not playing on the playground! Of course they had other favorite "toys"!
Hope you understand my thought process! If not, just move on! LOL
Enjoy and thanks for leaving comments!

First your card is amazing. Totally understood your thought process. Quilts to me are a form of art, and they bring security and warmth to their owners. Fav'd TFS

Oh, Bev, this made total sense to me, especially being a quilter (well, former quilter now that stamping has dominated my craft time). And a quilt as intricate as this is truly like putting together a puzzle with all the pieces and colors. And I so love putting together jigsaw puzzles, and my mom and I especially loved doing it together for hours. What fun and great memories now that she is no longer here. But I still love them, and now I got my DH into them when we take vacations. We have quite the collection of them and love the time together as we chat and work on sections -- but I always have to do the borders! My mom was the one who did those, but now it's my turn. Back to your card - it's gorgeous, and I love the beautiful DP you've used and your wonderful and precise "piecing" of the quilt. I love the finishing touches with the buttons, thread, and lace! Someone special is going to love them! Beautifully done, my sweet friend! Big hugs! xoxo

Beautiful card! So nicely put together! I definitely get where you are going with this too, and you brought back some wonderful memories for me. My grandmother loved to do puzzles, and I have lots of memories of us sitting at her diningroom table doing them with her...
and sitting with her and cutting out little fabric squares using the cardboard patterns that she had. It was more fun for me then toys!
