TGIF ... haven't heard that in a long time, have you? Well, it is TGIF for me because we've been presented with 2 great challenges. Dina's MIX168 calls for double matting and Jeanne's calls for a birthday card.
I hope, for those that have daughters-in-law, you love your DIL as much as I do. From day one, I knew this girl was special. I am truly blessed to have this very special woman in my life.
I assume you might be wondering why the face of this card doesn't resemble a typical birthday image. I couldn't find a better image to tell Jessica how much she means to me. Thus, I opted to use a great I Brake For Stamp's LOVE image.
I did a water color wash in cobalt blue. I embossed with fine silver powder when dry. Added a very special pearl (to me) flower and some leaves and that was that.
Have a great weekend everyone. May you find love in all the right places as I have.

This is a spectacular card for (I am guessing) a spectacular DIL! Classic colour combo of blue and silver..it's perfect. I know what you mean by extra special..describes my DDIL to a T. We are indeed lucky.

I LOVE your LOVE card! That blue is delicious, and the silver embossing so nice.
But more than the card, I love how you expressed your love of your DIL. A lot of Mom's spend a lot of time and energy not liking the choices their children make as far as a mate is concerned.
And, no I did not go out and buy dies especially for my pond song card, had them all. I am die and embossing folder freak!

How wonderful that you have such a special relationship with your DIL - and this lovely card celebrates that relationship beautifully! The pearl flower is gorgeous - and very interesting. The silver embossing looks stunning on the beautiful background, and that stamp is fabulous!

Your background caught my eye on this one! What a wonderful card for your daughter-in-law and one from the heart. The embossed background and pearl flower are gorgeous accents for this card.

Awesome card, Anne! The embossing just pushed this over the top. Also, thanks for sharing your love for your DIL. I would just add that not everyone is blessed with a wonder MIL. Win, win!

You sure can tell this beautiful card was made from the heart for someone very special. Glad to see you were dabbling with the water color background. Very eye appealing vibrant blue , and the added rich silver. The added pearls give it a special touch. TFS, Ms. Anne.
