The WT566 challenge is to depict a little piece of our world, where we live. I couldn't believe it but today I actually saw a few California Poppies in bloom - they are not usually out until about Feb or March! Maybe they were just rejoicing for all the rain we've gotten (though we still are in a drought). Anyway, I love my poppy stamps - these are from Rubbernecker. The "California Poppy" stamp is from GinaK Year of Flowers set. I first stamped the outline image with Versafine Onyx Black, then colored on the solid image with 3 different color markers, huffed on the stamp, then stamped.

Gorgeous CAS card, Harriet. I do love the vivid colour of Californian poppies, I've sometimes grown them here and they brighten our dull summers. A whole bunch of stuff is early here too, the poor plants have been very confused by our mild winter; the frosts have just arrived this week.

This is beautiful! I remember seeing fields of poppies while growing up in Southern California. They are so beautiful.

CAS perfection in spades! They are so wistful, just standing there, looking gorgeous in orange. A drought still - I would send rain, we have plenty to share believe me. But it's your weather that comes to us...

This is a really pretty Poppy stamp! Love your blended colors you stamped it in and that you only colored the flower and not the leaves! Very cool CAS!

Your poppies are beautiful Harriet!! I think you have the perfect coloring. I think you are lucky in some ways to live in CA. I have visited a few places and always think it's so pretty and nice.
