When I saw the CAS357 challenge (color of life wheel) and the TLC566 challenge (partial die cutting) I knew I needed to make a card like this. I sponged distress inks with my color wheel of life colors (orange, with secondary colors of reddish orange and goldish orange), then spritzed with shimmer mist. I used partial die cutting on my circular opening to cut the "happy" letters. Unfortunately, I was not satisfied with the roughness of the edges that I had to cut with my exacto knife between the letters (after the partial die cutting - as per Laura Bassen's partial die cutting videos), so I ended up also die cutting the letters in gold foil an adhering them to the partial die cuts. Added gold foil die cut confetti pieces and mounted the panel on dimensional tape for a shadow box look. It actually looks awesome IRL, even though my partial die cuts needed a little help!!

Maura I love your card! Gorgeous sponging with the distress inks. Can you share which distress inks you used? Thanks for joining us this week at Stamp Ink Paper

Maura, this is a great card! The ink blending is beautiful and the partial die cut works well. I think sometimes, we are too critical of our own work, lol. The gold sentiment is fab and I like that you took that idea from Bibi's original project. Thanks for playing at Global Design Project with us. Happy New Year - Paula Dobson

Maura this is gorgeous! The ombre backgroud is just stunning, and the little confetti die cuts are so cute. Thanks so much for joining us this week at Stamp Ink Paper!
