My friend Carol (Bobbie's Girl) included some really neat Spirelli trees in my birthday card this year and was also kind enough to supply the pattern too! Thank you so much for getting me hooked...but good! LOL I sewed the tree in gold metallic thread and heat embossed the outside edges of the cardboard (a great way to use scrap tissue boxes) *Note to self! be sure to emboss the edges first BEFORE sewing metallic thread has a tendency to melt under high heat! Don't ask how I know!! LOL The background is well aged scrap paper and the Cheery Lynn greeting is cut from some scrap metallic cardstock. I didn't have any glitter paper so I outlined the background with score tape and sprinkled gold glitter on everything. I like the results. This was also the meeting project for our last stamping get together.

Oh my!!! I've been looking online and some stitching on cards, and especially love this form. Haven't tried it but would like to--need to find a source for patterns, can you help me out?
LOVE this metallic thread you've used and thanks for the hint regarding embossing first. I too use tissue boxes and pop cases, etc--definitely the way to go when possible.
This is one gorgeous golden card, as usual I am totally impressed!!!!! It had to go into my favorites. Wonderful to see this card of yours!!! You have totally inspired me, I want to make some stitched cards and others using various thread techniques to make a set of cards for my mother who is an avid cross-stitcher, hoping she will like them. Thanks for your inspiring card, it is gorgeous!!!

Gold and kraft - how gorgeous!! The Spirelli tree looks amazing. Your DIY glitter edging looks fab, and given how much glitter seems to have come off the purchased glitter card I used recently, it probably wasn't any more messy!

So much awesomeness in your gallery Noof, but *this* little beauty really makes me smile. So much of your classic style here with the golden metallic thread. I love it! Thank you so much!
P.S. - Let's do this again next year.
Happy New Year!
