So I don't think I've actually done this technique before. I put the ink on my mat and spritzed the ink and then rubbed my water color paper on top of the ink. I don't know what that's called but that's what I did to get the background. I stamped off once before stamping both shipped in the craft ink. I used the heat gun to help dry. I love the craft but I'm too impatient to let it dry on its own! I added the rope because I wanted something else on the card and I thought buttons or anything else would be too distracting.

Oh my goodness, this is FABULOUS!! My favourite Pinterest board is "Weirdo Arty Stuff I love".....your mini masterpiece now lives there!! Pinned and faved. I think the proper name is Wrinkle Free Distress....at my age I don't talk about wrinkles so I call the technique Smack & Squirt followed by smooshing the cardstock in the inky puddle.

Very cool card...they sure look like haunted pirate ships. Your bg turned out great. I never have much luck stamping in white, but your ships sure turned out well.
Hi! This is gorgeous!!! Gorgeous background! Love how you added the ships in white!!! Beautiful! If I understand correctly how you created this background we have a tutorial here called Wrinkle Free Distress. Wrinkle-Free Distress Tutorials at Splitcoaststampers That's what I call it and as Nancy mentioned many of us call it smooshing because Susie Australia has made that technique famous around here!
