I really love making masculine cards. I have more nephews and with the number of guys in our family I go through masculine cards nearly every week. This card I used the Heartfelt Creations Everyday Heroes collection and stamped 3 of the images one in grey, one in blue and one in red. Two of the images the ship and the globe I needed to mask off the large BG stamps so that I could chose the portion of the stamp I wanted to use. It is a great way to use your stamps for more than just a background stamp and get many more uses from the stamp. Then I distressed the edges to give an aged look. Then created the Faux Tiles technique found here: Faux Tile Tutorials at Splitcoaststampers. Then mounted on a few layers of colors. Finally I heat embossed in copper the Happy Birthday and the anchor and cut out the anchor and added the twine.
I look forward to seeing what you create.
Thanks for looking!

This is so masculine and scored/cut so well, Lisa. Love the color scheme and the accompanying embellishments that make this a perfect nautical card. Way to go on this one, girl.
