Happy New Year, everyone...let's keep those happy feet still dancin'! I am in love with Audrie's choice for the Inspiration Challenge this week, a Pinterest board of amazing, amazing paper art...I simply could play in there for days...and while there were many creations that caught my eye, it was the French Silhouette Dancers I was drawn to. And Dawn, thanks for a true free for all (F4A254), I chose the silhouette stamping and a tiny bit of paper piecing on my lady's shirt.
The silhouettes were stamped on vintage sheet music from the '40's. I decided to add a bit of red patterened damask to her skirt. This will be a Happy Birthday, you can do it card for a dear friend who is stepping out on her own and dancin' just happens to be a passion. I added a TUBA inked in VersaMark and embossed in black on the background. I wanted a touch of funk. The sentiment is part of the Tim Holtz set that included the man and woman. I stamped the first sentence on the front in Sea Foam ep and finished it off inside.
Thanks for the gift of your comments, they encourage me to keep dancin' to my own artful tune...

I love this Susan! I am so drawn to your style, one I cannot do. How neat that you have music from the 40's. I had reams from piano days and gave it away, long before crafting. This is fabulous and a definite favorite!

What a fun card. I like that sentiment and the fact that you used 1940s music and added a bit of damask. Wonderfully artistic. Many hugz
