This is for Becky's color challenge to use lagoon, coral, and olive. It also fits yesterday's CAS challenge to color.
I was not able to take the online watercolor for cards class when it was offered in May but I did just a couple days ago, go ahead and pay for the class so i could access the videos as able. So this is my first project. I tried to use the wet on wet technique Swarup shared. I'm somewhere between kind of liking it and worrying that everyone will think it's just a muddy mess. LOL!
I used an image from Sweet 'N Sassy and stamped it with Archival ink, then really wet my paper and started adding colors, using Distress inks, some of which I had to mix to get near to the coral shade.
I'm kind of embarrassed to share a practice card but the colors did inspire me to try this today, so here it is. LOL! The word hope is a die from Little Yellow Bicycle.
Thanks so much for looking and be patient with me... it's my first try at this particular technique!

OMgoodnes! You definitely don't know what a "muddy mess" looks like. I had a wastebasket full of them when I started practicing and they didn't look anything like your pretty back ground! This card is beautiful!

Love your background! I think watercolor is just one of those things you have to do a lot of surrender with! Lovely card!
