I went for a poppy inspiration found HERE on the fabulous website Audrie and Harriet chose for us today. Kind of sketched in a few poppies and stems and then applied a light color wash bg with watercolors. Then very loosely applied paint, not worrying too much about the drawn lines. When finished I then drew in the lines with a black fine line marker - not only can you go outside the lines with this style of watercolor, you get make your own! I have to emphasize, I am not an artist, I don't know how to draw, so if I can do it, I reckon anyone can, this is kind of scribbly stuff. Next step was to stamp some paint splats in the general areas of color, and last of all I spritzed on some paint in green, red, and black. Oh dear, I just noticed that I forgot to put in some leaves! :(

Who needs leaves when you can make a beautiful card like this without them! I love the intensity of color and the varied textures in the background. Gorgeous!

Gorgeous in every way. Leaves not needed. I didn't even notice there weren't any until I read the description. I so envy your ability to draw those flowers by hand!
