For today's IC455 Color Watercolor inspiration challenge.
I have my eye on some of the paintings with storks/herons if I have time tomorrow. But as soon as I saw this Feather I knew it was time to try, yet again to CASE a card of Susie's which has been in my favourites since she made it (THIS CARD).
It took about 4 goes to get this to where I was happy with it! In the end, I stamped Canvas with Antique Linen (though I'm thinking there must have been something else on the stamp too, it doesn't look like Antique Linen). Stamped off Off the Grid with Smokey Grey and stamped it as a third generation, to keep it soft.
Stamped the die cut feathers with tattered rose and stormy sky. Here's a link to the Die Cut Stamps tutorial.
I then coloured my feathers with Perfect Pearls diluted in water, and added some luster rub-on round the edges. Stuck them down, then decided to tie some gold thread round so I threaded it under with a fine needle, and added a sentiment and some splashes.
I distressed the edges and added it to a plain white card base.
I'm sorry I'm sure I filled in all the fields for this but they seem to have disappeared. I used Spellbinders feather dies and fun foam. Sentiment stamped in Versafine Smokey Grey.

Beautifully done! Those colors play against each other wonderfully. Love the grid behind it all and the droplets. Just a lovely card!

One of my very favourite sentiments, Sabrina, and I'm a huge fan of feathers - I wanted to use them EVERY day there for a while! They're gorgeous, but your bg is what I'm finding so beautiful and interesting - lots of depth with your layered stamping!
