Here we are at Teapot Tuesday and our cards are going to splitcoaststamper iluvscrapping aka JoAnn of Arcadia FL, to let her know she is in our thoughts.
Marie aka Momof5sons, gave us a terrific story this week about Heather Hill the rabbit and her cousins Flopsy, Mopsy, Cottontail and Petra. Our challenge is to bring a touch of spring and new life, like butterflies and bunnies.
I have 5 butterfly punches and 4 butterfly dies….I know this because I leant all of them to a friend last Friday ‘cos I hardly use them !!!!! I don’t have a rabbit stamp, but our sweet Teapotter Miss Gabby, sent me a very cute teddy bear stamp. I spent a better part of this morning trying to make the bear look like a rabbit. Teddy the bear now looks like Teddy the Transvestite, so here we have it….a centre step card with roses – not a bunny or a butterfly in sight.
I cut (accidentally broke) the Cheery Lynn flourish in half and used it on each side of the card. Trellis was made with a Martha Stewart border punch. I discovered something interesting about the papers – the Scott’s Rose image was cut from a sheet of Pion Design –Vintage Garden paper. The blue trellis and paper on the back steps are Graphic45 – Secret Garden Collection. Now for the interesting part – the exact same Scott’s Roses image is also in the Graphic45 papers. Hmmm I may have exposed a copyright scandal. If I am interviewed by Interpol, I will be sure to mention SCS. I changed the image a little by swishing a bit of distress ink on the image and also coloured up the roses and leaves with Zig Wink of Stella brushes.
As for me, it is all quiet on the western front – no spills, injuries, fires….makes for a very pleasant change LOL.
Have a great week everyone.

Beautiful vintage roses print! Lovely card that I'm sure will brighten Jo-Ann's day! Sorry Fred Bear did not cooperate in your efforts to alter his image to become a believable rabbit. I'm sure as he made the journey to the Land Down Under, he did not consider that he might be subject to surgeries and alterations. Heehee! Glad, other than the flourish dissection, all was well this week. xx

You are just too funny!! I love the papers and the roses are beyond gorgeous! I was marveling how the vine is wrapped around the trellis - looks like my clematis!
I had to amputate butterfly parts on my card!

Wow! What a beautiful, feminine, shabby chic feel to your design. You have captured Spring with the pretty roses, die cuts and that great gingham paper.

Oh Susie, let me count the ways I love you! Between you and Nana B it's a wonder we get any cards finished (laughing). But, laughter is good for the heart, and so is beauty. The Lord says to think upon things that are good, pure, and lovely. And, your step cards is just that - lovely with a charming old world flare.
I was delighted to hear that everything including yourself was intact after the completion of your card (she smiles). I'll be checking with Interpol (wink)

I don't have the imagination to alter a bear into a bunny...so kudo's for giving it a try! Your outcome is so lovely on this card. You have crafted a real vintage beauty! I love the added sponging, distressing and the broken die cut is such a happy accident because you used it beautifully! I love how your wonderful rose image dp is bordered with the lovely trellis in gingham! AND all this loveliness in a step-card! Be still my heart.. I Love it!
