For the challenge TLC472 Rainbows Before Gold
and for my SIL's (Sarah) birthday
This card is so WAY out of comfort zone it isn't even funny! BUT I have always loved rainbows and at one time even decorated with them (in the 80's) and had a complete line of clothing and accessories in rainbows.
I made and remade this card about 6 times...then I spritzed in all the colors I used. I made a Bakers Twine bow in all the colors (this is Peggy not knowing when to stop) but decided against it in the light of day. I decided to photgraph it outside this morning because the light was difused with a light overcast. I added the little yellow plastic things, they are not pearls... and if anyone has a real name for them, please tell me.
I tried to find an image that had not yet been used (I haven't checked the gallery this morning so that may not be true). I have always loved this Tim Holtz clear set with the birds. Oh...I also tried to stamp a tree and put different colored birds in it....NOT... I didn't have the right tree or the right birds! I also tried (this is in addition to the 6 times I stamped this one) a flourish stamp in a circle also NOT good...
I woke up this morning with a variety of colors on my hands, and a wastebasket full of colorful discards! All in all, a good time was had... even it took me about 6 hours to create this challenge card. :-)

Haha! Sounds much like the progress I go through when making a card! Loved how hours turned put; the birds in flight are wonderful in the different colors and your sentiment is perfect for your card! TfS!

Wow! Peggy this is so inspiring and beautiful!!! I know it is not your usual gorgeous monochromatic or fabulous layered die cuts, but it is amazing! The spritzed background is so cool and I LOVE the rainbow of birds! Very creative take on the challenge! The sentiment is fantastic too! LOVE it all!!!

Peggy, this is just a delightful rainbow of birds. And, the spritzing looks great. Six hours for six cards....that's pretty good. I can work forever on a card. Great sentiment, too.

Dear friend, you made me laugh out loud with your description. We've all been there - some of us more than others - if you know what I'm sayin' (don't ask me how I know this) : )
Your patience and efforts paid off, and good for you for stepping out of your comfort zone too. It's lovely Peggy, I love the overlapping colors of the birds - very nice. And the colored spray - wonderful! The yellow thingies - are they enamel dots?

its a funny thing isn't it, that you do something out of your own box and you end up with something way cool. I love the depth of layers of colors on this a lot Peggy
