Oh, I've had trouble uploading my card and lost my description twice...I'll follow up tomorrow.
I was inspired by wee folk note cards. Thanks so much to Polly for introducing us to this enchanting artist. And Audrie, too.
I'll be short...if anyone wants to know the technical deets, I'll be happy to answer.
It must have taken me all of 2 minutes to settle on my inspiration. Such a sweet scene of Mama and her precious presents. As I am becoming the Mama of my card (but not sobbing), I just knew I wanted to portray how fleeting the years really are as we raise our children. This card was a labor of love.
My oldest son, Sam turns a quarter of a century in 10 days. I can hardly imagine that is possible. And dear youngest son, &d now old enough to register for the Selective Service. Oh, the days have flown by!
I now have the privilege of watching their lives unfold like a cherished flower, And I am reminded of a quote (and I apologize in advance for butchering it)...how can a man cause a flower to bloom, opening petal by petal. NOT a chance of that! It is exciting, thrilling, scary, all rolled up and in the letting go and in the knowing that I am not the most important woman in their lives any more. That's the way it is supposed to be. I'll stand in the background (a floral one) and cheer them on, smiling and crying and laughing and listening in the peaks and valleys of their lives.
Thanks for your comments, always...

Your creative scene is filled with so many details and emotion. Your card is awesome! Time certainly does fly by for all of us. Wish we could slow it down a bit sometimes.

I so understand, Susan! The years just flash by and the kids are grown when you turn around. A quarter of a century sounds soooo much older than 25, lol.

This is one of the most moving descriptions I've read ... really speaks from the heart to the soul. Bravo for you for putting into words the beauty of mom-ness. This artistic representation is fabulous!
