This card was made for today's Featured Stamper Challenge. Congrats to Kathleen Curry on being honored this week. I enjoyed looking through your gallery. I chose this card to CASE:
I have always loved this color combination and I had never tried this particular version of Burned Batik background. I had a little trouble actulally getting the embossing powder to melt into the paper and ended up actually scorching some areas, but it's ok...it just adds to the aged look. I stamped the PTI leaf flourishes in Versamark and then added clear EP to the images. I melted this and then sponged my background colors on. Then I used my heat tool to try and melt the powder into the paper (this is where I had some problems. I ended up using the old method of an iron with some scrap paper covering it to remove the EP. Then I wheeled the piece with the Rough Texture Wheel and the Travel Journal Wheel. I used the Heart Border punch instead of the Eyelet Border Punch and used a large Heart stamp from Love Always as my greeting panel.
I got to try out my new Spellbinder's Mini Blossoms die and used the Sweet Cuts Leaf Die and some smaller flowers to finish it off. I still love this color combo!
What do you think?
