Today, in an effort to remind the residents of Lake Wobegone of how beautiful the peaceful, serene countryside is, 42,000 Teapotters are creating cards that depict scenes of country living. You see, Donald DeVeloper is trying to buy up all the land he can so that he can turn it into a "planned community" full of condos and lakefront properties and who knows what else?!? If it happens, the abundant beauty will be lost forever. MN yielded about 1.2 billion bushels of corn this year. Living in IL, which produced over 2 billion bushels of corn this year, I know how important the corn crops are. My scene depicts a resident among the corn filled countryside. Hope it helps the Wobegone residents remember the thrill of watching the seedlings grow to knee high by the 4th of July and from 8' to 20' high over the season. Not to mention having the most delicious corn on earth, available and ready to eat throughout the harvest!
Our cards are going to Peggy, who is a friend of Pat (Foxy67). Peggy recently had surgery and will start cancer treatments soon. We hope our cards will encourage and cheer her on and let her know we care. God bless you Peggy.
My card is also for yesterday's TLC, revisiting paper piecing. It was fun piecing the little PI girl's jacket, skirt and boots and adding a lot of die cuts to the card to create my scene.
Thank you for looking!

I love the outfit you created for the PI image! How adorable is that, like a little school outfit. Love that burlap! This is so perfect for the challenges.

So sweet, Gabby! I love your paper-piecing, and then the corn and pumpkins tell me for sure that we're not in Ireland. Corn/maize we do see, but pumpkins are a rare sight.
We are always delighted to have volunteer hostesses for Tickle a Teapotter Tuesdays. All you need is an idea for a theme and a picture of a teapot to suit it.
Click HERE if you want to find out more or volunteer as a hostess for 2014.

Gabby, this is adorable!! Your little girl in the cornfields is just delightful!! I love that you used Joan's challenge to make her, as that is just a delightful autumn outfit for her. What better prairie scene than the bounty of the field. One of my closest friends hails from an Illinois farm - not far from Springfield. She recently inherited the land and has someone local manage it for her. 2013 was a good year for corn! Thank you so much Miss Gabby for coming to Peggy's Teaparty - she will be tickled pink with your card. I put out fresh cookies every day, so sneak back and grab a few! Hugz from NJ.
