I'm so excited that I'm able to play in one more challenge today. A red letter day for sure *giggle*. I created a card for this week's CAS221 "That Smells Great!"
You don't have to go far these days to see couples leaning in over a cup of coffee deep in conversation do you? But you know there's a smell stronger than dark roast, and sweeter than the yummy baked goods. Observe ... a hand reaches across the table, a smile spreads across a face, and two people connect (no not on Facebook *giggle*). We need that touch, that connection don't we? We were created for fellowship, we need it right down to the depth of our core. And when it happens nothing feels so sweet. It's always better with "you" than just "me".
The little roses are from my patio garden (she smiles). And I'll share a love story with you. When my husband was courting me, he gave me a red rose and a white rose and pledged his love. Several years later with our first baby on the way I found myself alone. On the day our son was born a gift of flowers arrived. Two red roses and one tiny white one. Life happens over coffee, babies, and the duties we are called to. But pledges of love and devotion carry us through life's challenges with the greatest smell of all ~ memories.
My CAS card was created on Kraft card stock with the focal panel in white. A one layer card using stamps, ink, and a little twine.
Thanks ladies for your wonderful and creative friendship here on SCS. I appreciate all the inspiration ~ it's a great place to connect!
Blessings,
Susie ~

Susie, I can't believe I missed this in the gallery before! I LOVE this sweet card and the even sweeter story behind it. You really have a way with your words and just the sweetest spirit! Your patio roses are gorgeous too! I certainly agree with the sentiment.....my sweet husband took me for coffee on our first date and the rest is history! ;)
