Sometimes at Christmas you need a card that doesn't say "Merry Christmas" or "Joy" or anything celebratory - often for someone who recently lost a loved one and won't really feel like celebrating. For these friends, I like simple notes with a bit of a Christmas feel, just to write and say that you know they must be missing their loved one and that Christmas is a hard time for them.
I used the CAS challenge - inspired by a quote about music and wings - to design the theme of the card. It's also for the Featured Stamper - Mary (aka MaryR197). And for the Christmas Card Challenge which posted a theme for March to use stamps we hadn't used or had neglected. When I was browsing through Mary's gallery I spotted this card:
and it reminded me that I had never inked up my Language of Friendship set so thought I could do all three challenges with this set. Only problem is I used a red ink that was much too close to the red cs I punched the bird out of so it doesn't show up very well. I changed Mary's dp to an embossing folder, flipped the orientation of the card, and put my bird on a circle instead of a rectangle.
