Oh what a fun Teapot Tuesday tea party this week. Millicents garden is finally back in order, however it is a mystery as to how the climbing roses have turned into climbing apples. The ladybug ate 42,000 aphids (dipped in chocolate ofcourse) and drank 42,000 cups of coffee, hence her rather robust figure!!!
This is a center step card (Frances Byrne tutorial here is great). The background paper and grass are a really bright lime green, on my computer it looks almost cream in color. If you are having the same problem, stand on your head and tilt slightly to the left. The grass was made using Martha Stewart fringe scissors, then hand trimmed at an angle and to get it to curl I put some liquid hand sanatizer in my hands and ran the paper through my hands. It not only curled really well, it smells good LOL.
The ladybug is incredibly overweight, I actually fibbed when I said she ate too much, truth be told I only have a 1.25" circle punch and a 7/8" punch. I punched little holes in the red paper to expose the black underneath and then added some dimensional magic.
I had heaps of fun making this card for Marian, it's already in the mail. Have a lovely week, and thanks for looking.

What a super garden you've created - a fabulous spring feel with that daffodil border, and the little (not so little!) ladybird is sweet. I like the idea of using punched holes showing the layer underneath. I think I'd have added punched circles, just to make things more complicated than I need to.

What a detailed and fabulous scene you created! I really love the climbing apples! Your darling ladybug deserves some extra cookies for ridding Millicent's garden of all those aphids. Job well done, Ladybug and you too, Susie! You made an awesome card for Marian.
