Today, Stef had use check out Empirical Style! It is a very cool vintage website. I didn't look around too long, because as soon as I saw this: http://www.empiricalstyle.com/produc...-sold-sold132/
I thought it looked like a snow globe. The Northwoods stamp is really too large for the snowglobe, so after I colored it with Copics, added a little stickles and Uniball white pen, I popped it up on dimensionals. The snow globe was stamped with Rich Cocoa Memento Ink, so the brown would add to the base looking more like wood.
The background technique is faux embossing. I have two sizes of snow flakes punched out and scattered around. I added gold shimmer to the background too, but it is so light you can't see it in the photo.
Very cool site Steph! Thanks so much for taking a peek!

Kathleen, what a 'wow' card. I absolutely love your snowglobe. You've colored and sparkled this scene soooooo pretty. Your bg is awesome, too.

Kathleen, I love both your faux embossed background and that beautiful little snow globe. DH has been looking over my shoulder and is pretty impressed with this one too ;-).

Such a pretty C'mas card---LOVE the snowy scene in the snow globe. And how fascinating that you saw a snow globe in the inspiration piece. I probably saw this picture and breezed right over it, but now that you've pointed it out all I can see is a snow globe. Clever
