This week our cards are going off to a little boy by the name of James. He's 3 yrs. young and is dealing with some pretty major medical issues.
Turns out that James loves pirates and dogs.
Well, every good (or bad) pirate needs a hat, so that's what I did this week. But, I also included the dog too! Since I live in the same city as Snoopy, what better dog to represent all dogs than Joe Cool and his sidekick Woodstock!
Now I know the hat has a skull and crossbones on it, but it just wouldn't be a pirate hat without them. So if I have to sneak in the back door, well that's all right with me, cuz I have Joe Cool and Woodstock at my side!
I sure hope this hat fits James. This is the third one I made, the first being too small and the second, well that's even a bit too big for the DH. I would have used the DGS for sizing, since he's 3 too, but he won't be over until tomorrow. But I do have enough material left over to make a hat for him. So Grandpa and DGS can wear them while playing with their trains.
So to James I say, arrrrr! Get well dear child!
I'm sorry for the bad color quality, Woodstock is yellow. It's a strange weather day here today. Smoke and clouds mixed together don't make for good photos!

Adorable card with delish borders, and a hat too! Love it!

Jennifer what a great hat. I smiled when I read your story - I thought of Goldilocks and the 3 Bears. James is going to love having his own pirate hat. And your Snoopy card is just great - Snoopy gets you in the front door. Really neat die cuts, too.

How very clever of you, Jennifer! I love this wonderful hat that you made for James. Snoopy and Woodstock will be cherishes, especially with the very cool edges on your card (the punch is great - looks like prairie architectural details). James is going to be thrilled!

How sweet of you to mix both James's loves together - the pirates and dogs - tho' Snoopy is not very ferocious, I am sure James will be able to conjure up a pirate's scallawag grin and play the part well - Love Joe Cool too!!
