I have stencil specifically for making cards that allows you to cut out pieces all in the correct sizes to make a quilt/collage sort of design on your card front. I have had it for years but never used it. I decided to use it combined with a pad of coordinating patterned papers to experiment with getting wild with patterns on my card! All papers are from the Basic Grey "Out of Print" 6x6 pad, which I am loving. After completing the background, I stamped the black butterfly over top of it, and again on matching pink paper which I cut out to form the wings. Added the sentiment (Stampin' Up) and done! I'm ashamed I let that stencil sit for so long, it's definitely going to see more use!

Your patchwork design background is just great, it was the first thing I noticed. The butterfly goes with it so well, too - the design on the wings is like little lace eyelet holes.

This is so pretty. It's like looking at a quilt with a butterfly on it. Love the butterfly too. WOW card! TFS :0)
