Hello everyone...happy weekend. Hope you're all decked out, festive inside and out! What a great site you chose today, Anne. I loved the rustic look and feel to the objects de art. So so many cool things there...but it was this driftwood mirror that sparked my creativity this evening.
This mirror has so much texture and I love the reflection within. So my challenge was to create that reflection using my gorgeous '60's lady dressed for a lunch date at one of the downtown department stores. She's checking her reflection one more time before she heads out the door. I used mirror paper underneath the shell mirror (Stamp Francisco). My lady is a B Line Designs named 'Anticipation'. I dressed her with Basic Grey houndstooth from the Figgy Pudding group. Pearls for her buttons and a hand dyed silk ribbon made into the flower on her hat.
I'd love to hear what you think about the Oscar Wilde quote: One should either WEAR a work of art or BE a work of art. I say we are fortunate WE can do both!
Thanks so much for commenting...and I am hoping your weekend has some artful time, just for you.

When I saw the card, I knew without looking that it was yours. I love the quote and I love what you did with your inspiration. I am really impressed with the amount of thought you put into a card. It sure pays. I like the partial reflection in the mirror.

This is fabulous, Susan! Love everything about it and especially the quote. Love Oscar's quotes and I have one stamp w/ his diary quote but I really like this one.

Well, this is certainly a work of art. Very clever with the reflection and I'm loving the houndstooth. That red bow on the hat was the perfect POP! Not sure if I'm either of those...certainly not wearing a work of art today....you should see...no, you shouldn't. LOL Your mirror is awesome. What fun to take in your creation.
