The CAS Challenge this week is to incorporate a banner into our cards. Banners remind me of things nautical. I wanted a BD card evoking the upcoming Pirates movie so I used this opportunity to CASE this fantastic card by mnfroggie: SC313 Open Sea CASE by mnfroggie at Splitcoaststampers
I stamped the main image from Schooner in Night of Navy on Vanilla CS, sponged very gently and distressed the edges. Matted with a distressed navy panel and an orange panel. Stamped the sentiment in navy and made a layered banner. Made the knot with triple strands of hemp twine (I used tape to hold the ends together while tying) and strung the stars on one strand. Secured all with lots of glue dots and DS tape on the back. Mounted all on a vanilla card and done. PT-resting :(
Thanks so much for looking and have a peaceful day.

Hi, Marie. What a gorgeous nautical-style card you've created. I really love the macrame style embellishment with the stars. A perfect touch. Hope you had a fantastic Mother's Day.

What a great nautical card - love that knot and the stars! Looks like you have punchez even though you don't - very creative cutting! Super card.

What a fantastic nautical/masculine card, Marie! That schooner has such a jaunty angle. You did a super job with the twine--I love the knot and the star buttons. And the banner for your sentiment was the perfect choice for this nautical theme!
