Hello! This card was made for todayÂ’s Ways to Use It Challenge: Happy Birthday.
I’ve been having a pretty good last 3 days, and decided that I was up to stamping this morning, before going in to the warehouse. I love tigers, and this “purple eyed” white tiger has been bouncing around the inside of my brain for about 3 weeks. So, today, I decided to make a card using this inspired color combo.
Speedy the Cat has phantom stripes. That's right! He really has stripes that are only visible in direct BRIGHT sunlight. So, I like to think of white tigers as being OPPOSITE striped of Speedy the Cat! (The Jacksonville Zoo has a Phantom marked Black Jaguar! And, our vet laughed when I insisted that Speedy the Cat had phantom stripes. Yep, I dragged that poor cat out into the bright sunlight at the vet's office and the vet stopped laughing. I was right! He said that he had only seen the phenomenon once before, and it was the Jax's Zoo's Jaguar!
We’ve been working on Premium Paper Craft Packs, trying to develop color/texture combos that would appeal to stampers. I LOVE this combo, and decided to use it! Yep, these colors really “meshed up” for me this morning.
I stamped the image in AdirondackÂ’s Pitch Black and colored and outlined in several Copic Markers. The sentiment was stamped onto a scrap piece of card stock and then cut with a Spellbinders Labels die. I just snipped it off and I had a pretty shaped sentiment. The charm was brass, but I simply squished it into a VersaMark pad and embossed it in detail Silver!
What do you think?
