made me think of this older retired SU set - Wonderful Weaves. This card style is a little out of my comfort zone and I fussed with it for the longest time. I've had these stamps for the longest time and they don't see enough ink. It's an ongoing mission to use many of my older images! I used my mat pack and a micron pen to do some faux stitching around the lavendar panel and did a bunch of distressing. I also layered up the buttons on the heart image and added crystal effects to make them look a bit like real buttons. While this heart is not technically an SU stamp, I did purchase this from SU years ago when they carried other vendors (this is going back to 1995-1996). Remember when the stiched look was all the rage back then? I think that style might be making a come back! There are many, many retired SU items on this card! Gotta use up these hoarded items before my kids nominate me for the Hoarders show! Oops my age and stamping obsession are showing!

Good for you, Kathy! I stay within my comfort zone......leaving it makes me throw away too much stuff that took way too long! I love all the distressing, and the weaves are perfect! Great job!!

Your story makes me think of the phrase "everything old becomes new again." How fun to use older stamps that have such a "today" feel. Love the color combo!
