Hi! This card was made for today's Technique Lovers Challenge: faux Tile. It also fits this week's Stampin' B's Challenge to make a Holiday Card.
I have to admit that even though I have TONS of work to finish, that I'm hiding in my stampin' room at home in my pjs stamping. I SHOULD be at the warehouse, but the stress was getting to me. Heck...I FORGOT to eat yesterday....hmmm...me?? Yep! So, under orders of the bookkeeper, I'm here stamping this morning, playing hookie from work. (Now, let me tell you...I worked 11 hours on Thanksgiving, 20 hours Friday, 18 hours on Saturday and 17 hours yesterday...Heck...I NEEDED some time off!
I decided to use this pinecone/branch for today's card, because, quite frankly, it was already on my stampin' table! LOL And, I wanted to see if I could get a good impression using the faux tile technique. The answer is: Maybe...Here's what happened:
I used the Scor-It-All to make the 1/2" grid on a 3" x 4" piece of 100lb Snow Storm Smooth. Next, I stamped the image in Noir. Well...Not all of the image stayed OUT of the small grid lines. So... I did the process all over. After 6 tries, my hand hurt so much from using the Scor-It-All that I decided to just color the blasted images in with Copics, staying away from the grid lines. Next, I used an Inkssentials pen to cover the stamped area in the grids! It worked! (The trick is to use a HEAT TOOL to COMPLETELY dry the ink BEFORE you try to cover it with the Inkssentials pen!)
I adhered the oval, offset on purpose, flush with the background.
Finished size: 5 1/2" x 4 1/4"
Totat time to complete: just over 50 minutes...I know better to use the Inkssentials pen!

After six tries you have one beautiful card here. I love those pine branches and cones. Love the off set ovals. What a WOW kind of card! TFS :0)

For all your effort this turned out beautifully. I love the charm on your ribbon.
Good idea to use the ink pen - I might go over my lines. I tried to mask off and still the image and colors were there.
