Beaufer and Starlet are in such a whirl
As the limos wheels start to rumble and twirl.
They are looking for flowers – roses preferred
The party is a surprise . . . shhhhhh, donÂ’t say a word!
Miss Eula loves her parrot and Star loves her back
But if you give Starlet a carrot, she gets all off track.
So its roses and parrots that we plan to bring
(Oh gosh, oh golly do you think Starlet will sing?)
Starlet and Beaufer have two very dear friends
They are Scarlet Macaws (much prettier than last weekÂ’s hens!)
Molly and Morton Macaw have flown from Brazil
Carrying 42,000 roses they hope not to spill.
The only problem these two Ara Macaos can see
Is that Starlet and Beaufer forgot to tell them where to be.
So they flew to St. Lucia to join the surprise
To discover it was Philadelphia (for cheese steaks and fries?)
So now itÂ’s off to Philly, PA for these two rose toting birds
Who want to be able to say a few words.
On to Miss EulaÂ’s party hoping not to be late
After all itÂ’s not often you turn 108!
I really wanted something with both parrots and roses, so in looking online for a bit of inspiration I found this poster of an old vintage post card that was a birthday greeting – here: http://www.allposters.com/-sp/Birthd..._i6076192_.htm
The parrots are from one of the online coloring books printed out and then colored with copics and highlighted with a white gel pen. The roses are the old PSX Hybrid Roses stamp, which I masked and stamped several times with tuxedo black Mementos ink. I colored then with copics and then added a little Elmer’s 3D glitter glue to some of the petals. I “fussy cut” the parrots and the roses and layered them onto designer paper (DCWV) that had lots of colorful flowers and a little glitter. That was layered onto coral CS. Sentiment is from Inkadinkado’s Garden Flower set.
