This is a pic of my practice cake and favor bag for my sister's shower. It was extremely easy but it took a lot of time. I stamped paint prints onto the fondant using the classic inks and then I dyed the green fondant with the old olive pad by stamping the rolled out fondant a couple of times. I'll be taking some of the things off of the bag (thanks to the helpful advice I received) and the final cake will be a lot bigger, but I had to make sure that I was able to do it!

Wow! I had heard of stamping on cookies.....and when I mentioned it to some customers they weren't really recdeptive.....but I think if we used food coloring they would be more comfortable easting it. The inks are non-toxic.....

Very interesting for sure! I think my husband would have me committed for it but it's a real twist from taking things from the kitchen to stamp with. It really looks nice and you did a great job on both the cake and the bag.
Now as for Shelli licking her stamps as stated in Stepfani's post, I refuse to go there with that one! Well, unless you've just cleaned them for the cake!!! TFS!
You can get the exact same effect by using food coloring paste (found in Michael's, ac moore or other craft stores - mine were made by Wilton). Regular liquid food coloring makes the icing too runny - you need the paste. I've stamped my son's birthday cakes and always used food paste.
