I used letters from a PaperTrey Alphabet set and the smallest heart Nestability. The snaps are heart shaped brads.

This couldn't be cuter!! I got an I "heart" FDNY onesie for my my DS and DDIL and "coming soon" grandson. They sell them all over NYC and are so very adorable. So very creative on your part.
