This is for today's FEATURED STAMPER #161 - Vera. I was inspired by her FAUX BRADS. I left off the faux brads, hardware, changed the colors and layout. This bird image called to me especially after struggling over Saturday's INSPIRATION CHALLENGE # 222 - Ginko Papers until I found this darling PERCHED BIRD NOTEPAD and then it all fell in place. I needed a sympathy card that I had also been struggling to make but today it came together. My layout is from Saturday's OUR CREATIVE CORNER CHALLENGE - Sketch Challenge. My color combo is from Wednesday's COPIC COLOUR CHALLENGE # 54 - BG15, B93, Y21. Love these together. I stamped the image in espresso on Paper Trey Ink vanilla cs then heat embossed clear detail ep. I colored with copics then sponged with creamy caramel then close to cocoa and matted on close to cocoa. My dp is from My Minds Eye paper pack. I used so saffron ribbon and under it is close to cocoa cs trimmed with a Martha Stewart border punch. My sentiment is from Warmest Regards and is stamped in espresso ink. This is for a co-worker who just had her husband of many years pass away. I hope she likes it.

Thanks so much for CASEing one of my cards in today's challenge, Neva! I'm sorry to hear about your co-worker's loss. This beautiful card (with one of my favorite birds) will be much appreciated, I'm sure. I love the colors and the striped background. A wonderful creation!

Neva, this really popped out at me from the gallery even in the thumbnail. The colors you chose are so great and a touch of spring. I have always loved this bird and he is just gorgeous.

Oh my, this is very nice. Peaceful. A perfect sympathy card, although never an easy card to make. I so love your colors. The bird is wonderful. And wow, on making so many challenges. TFS. : )
