Here is the card that I made for today's sketch challenge. I looked at the stars that were on the sketch and I thought of a comment that Kathy LeDonne had made yesterday and that I fully agree with -
"Love the stars! I think stars make a fabulous card, I'm always surprised that more people don't use them!". Kathy made this comment on a lovely card made by frou frou that can be viewed here Durango shining stars CC257 by frou frou at Splitcoaststampers. Thus I decided to use stars on my card today. I don't own any star nestabilities and I don't own a star punch ( a situation that I may have to remedy in the near future). So I traced a star, stamped and colored an image and cut my stars by hand, then mounted them on the pink passion and tried to freehand a shadow. The variegated pink panel is a piece of glossy card stock that I had been messy around with for a background for a previous card (it ended up being too bright and didn't achieve the look I was after - so into the reject pile). It was made using various reinkers. Well I thought maybe it would work for this card, so used some of it today. I cut some of the pinkness by adding the die cut lattice strips. Now I just have to get it to the baby girl for whom it is intended before she grows up. TFL

What a wonderful card!! I have to agree about the stars--I'm always drawn to them. So simple, yet so much graphic punch!! Way to go on improvising for your star cut-outs--woo hoo!! (That's the kind of thing I end up doing all the time. Too many great tools to obtain, not enough moola). And I LOVE those lattice die cuts. Awesome!
