For today's Ways to Use it challenge to use pleats on our projects. This is a technique I've been wanting to use and I still need some practice at it. This was definitely a learning experience for me!
Still working on my scrap boxes and that's where every piece of paper and cs on this card came from. The card is one of few pre-made cards that I have left from a bundle given to me by a friend. The rest are assorted unknown leftovers.
My first boo boo came in making the pleated blossom thingy. Didn't find out it was a mistake until much later when I was too far into this to turn back....the stuff is already in the scrap bin! The goal is not to put it back in! The strip of paper I used was too short to make a full blossom, so I ended up mounting it on the bottom of the image panel instead of on the corner where I had planned for it to go.
Then I tried to make the clouds using the scallop punch instead of my cloud template. Duh!! I used the wrong part of the scallop for the first two clouds before I realized why they looked funny.
Then I stamped the sentiment crooked (it's not like I didn't already have the stamp positioner out to get the tree trunks in the right place) so I had to use my new punch and move the image layer over.
After all that, and the photo was taken and everything, I realized the image layer was mounted crooked! Can't get it apart without ripping things, so it is what it is!!
Sheesh!! I think I'll just go work on putting together the bookcases I bought yesterday...probably easier!
The trees were done with the baby wipe technique, BTW.
Thanks for taking a closer look and putting up with all my drama!!

What a GREAT card! (We all have those days when our eyes aren't quite straight!:p) I love the coloring of your trees and central panel and the pleated accent is just right. Wonderful work.

You are so funny! If all my mistakes could look this good, I would be one happy stamper! VERY cute card and the pleated half circle with the button is terrific!

What a happy accident that you didn't have a long enough strip to make a flower - this is a GREAT accent! I never would have seen a single 'mistake' if you hadn't said so... This card still looks fab to me!
