Have you ever had one of those cards that just isn't working and that is driving you nuts just to look at? This is mine! I started it one night and had to come back to it the next day. I just couldn't seem to get anything to work right and I was so frustrated!
I started this card following the FTL50 layout (http://cleanandsimplestamping.blogsp...hy-friday.html) and I kept adding layers...and I moved the sentiment...and I added brads along the bottom. I also started with the colors crushed curry, bermuda bay and real red. I was having a really hard time with the curry, so I nixed it and added soft suede as a neutral base.
I stamped the top stars on whisper white cs in real red and bermuda bay ink, I embossed them clear embossing powder, and then cut them out. I layered them on stars that I punched out of real red and bermuda bay cs with the star punch. Stars are layered on dimensionals.
I used the harlequin Texturz Plate from Stampin' Up! for the small white panel. For the ribbon and button, I ran a piece of linen thread through one of the button hole and then around the ribbon and back through the other button hole. This cinched the ribbon under the button. I inked up the sentiment in versamark then real red and clear embossed it.
I have to say that I love how it finally turned out, even if it was a pain!
Thanks for looking...and listening to my slight rant!

I really like the layout of your card. I know exactly what you went through to get it just the way you wanted it to look. At least it turned out beautifully. The colors and the texture are perfect.
