This is my card for today's Card Sketch Challenge:Forums at Splitcoaststampers. Thank you Roxie for a fun sketch.
I used a new release image this month from Clear Dollar Stamps called Dirt Rides. I have teen boys so I was happy to get this set.
My inspiration for the square center is from the Jan/Feb 2009 Paper Crafts issue (pg 39). I've always loved the faux stamps people have made but thought all the printing etc too much trouble. So when I found this I thought "Ah Hah I can do this". So I did.
I made myself a square template from transparency film and stamped images in black. Then I sponged my colors and heat embossed. It turned out better than I thought. I paper pierced in between and around then cut out with the Stamp shape edging scissor. I did the same stamping/sponging technique on the label. The panels I just ran over a black ink pad. And voila. Wow, that is cool how you did those squares!! I didn't realize it was done like a stencil at first. So creative you are! The colored background behind the images is great. That sketch looks like a fun one too... might have to use that one, since I didn't get to it last week.
